The cause of death of Nathan Smith, the deceased son of rapper Lil Jon, has been revealed.

Less than a month after a body believed to be Smith’s was found in a pond near the family’s home, the Fulton County Medical Examiner has released his report.

According to the autopsy report obtained by reporters, Smith’s cause of death was “drowning while using psilocybin.” The manner of death was ruled an accident.


The Autopsy Findings

The medical examiner’s report provides detailed information about the circumstances of Smith’s death.

A blood sample tested positive for psilocybin, which is described in the report as “a pharmacologically active hallucinogenic compound of psilocybin — hallucinogenic mushrooms.”

Under the pathologic diagnosis, the report confirms that Smith’s body was recovered from a retention pond. It also states there was water-immersion wrinkling on his hands, consistent with drowning.

Smith, who was 27 years old, made music under the name DJ Young Slade.
