Kelly Stafford has put her podcast The Morning After on an indefinite hiatus so she can step back from weekly recording and focus on her husband Matthew Stafford and their four daughters.

Kelly’s decision is rooted in her desire to be more present at home with Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford and their four daughters. With Matthew in the middle of a high-pressure season and the Rams firmly in the playoff and MVP conversation, she said she wants to be “fully locked in” with him while also showing up for their girls in everyday moments.

She also acknowledged that the constant grind of weekly podcasting had started to weigh on her mental health. Kelly previously told listeners that between motherhood, supporting Matthew’s career, and managing the show, she needed “a second” to breathe and reassess where The Morning After was heading, emphasizing that her family had to come first.

The pause has been building for weeks. Kelly initially revealed in an October episode that she would be stepping away from the mic for about a month to protect her mental health and rethink the direction of the show. At that time, she admitted she’d been struggling with how to balance her roles as a mom, wife, and podcast host, calling the show “another one of [her] babies,” but still secondary to her family.

After that short break, she has now chosen to extend the hiatus indefinitely rather than rush back into a demanding recording schedule. The last full episode of The Morning After dropped in early October, and since then she has stayed in touch with fans mainly through social media updates rather than new podcast content.

In her latest message, Kelly thanked the “amazing” TMA community for sticking with her through every phase of her life that unfolded on the podcast. She credited the show with helping her feel seen as a mom and giving her space to talk honestly about the chaos of parenting, marriage in the NFL spotlight, and her own growth.

Kelly told listeners she is grateful for their patience as she has taken time away to “figure things out” and reiterated that she hopes to return to The Morning After in some form one day. Until then, she’s focusing on what matters most off the mic: supporting Matthew’s season and soaking up everyday life with their four daughters.

For now, fans shouldn’t expect new episodes of The Morning After, but Kelly has left the door open for a future reboot or refreshed version of the show. Her hiatus underlines a growing trend of public figures pulling back from constant content creation to protect their mental health and prioritize family, even when a platform is thriving.

As Matthew’s on-field story continues with the Rams’ strong campaign, Kelly’s focus will stay firmly at home, away from the recording studio and closer to the sideline as a wife and mom first. And while The Morning After is quiet for now, her community appears ready to welcome her back whenever she decides the time is right.
