Actor Shahab Ali, who plays Sajid in the web series, recently revealed that there were intimate scenes between his character and Samantha Akkineni aka Raazi.
However, they were edited out in the final cut of the show. Shahab Ali starred in both the seasons of The Family Man while Samantha was seen in the second season. In the show, we saw an undercurrent of a romantic angle between their characters, as they spent a lot of time together completing missions.
In a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, Shahab talked about the chemistry between the two. Shahab mentioned that there were some scenes with Samantha that could not make it to the final show. He said,
“It’s not just intimate scenes. It was the normal process – you have a long show and there is a process of editing that comes later. It was not like any particular scene was edited out. I think only those scenes were kept which were necessary and logical for the show. The parts which were not logical were not kept, so it is not there.”
When Shahab was asked if he had shot any intimate scenes with Samantha in The Family Man 2,
“We did some suggestive scenes which suggested that they fall in love in the end. But they didn’t matter to the visual creators, or perhaps to the platform. So, those scenes were edited out. A lot of scenes have been edited, so it’s not really a big deal, that’s the process.”
Talking about his experience working with Samantha, Shahab told IANS,
“When the directors of the series (Raj and DK) told me that they had cast Samantha in the show, I was very excited. He is a big star and I really admire him. I had seen his ‘Super Deluxe’ and other films. In the beginning I was a little scared. Actually, when the shooting started and we talked, the panic turned into rest. He is very focused and dedicated. I have learned a lot.”
Their roles as extremists were highly appreciated by the audience and made it one of the entertaining shows. He also recalled how he didn’t know how to drive, but had to learn for a few episodes.
