Shepard appeared to injure his left leg on the final Giants’ offensive possession of the game, and would be carted off following the injury.

The Giants’ wide receiver room is already in a state of flux even before Shepard’s injury. Kenny Golladay is rumored to be on the trade block and 2021 first-round pick Kadarius Toney has not been able to earn his way onto the field consistently.

Shepard’s injury could force one or either onto the field in the coming week’s — depend on how severe it is.

Here’s the latest on Shepard’s injury:

Late in the fourth quarter of the Giants-Cowboys “MNF” matchup, Shepard was injured on a non-contact play. The wideout would clutch his left knee and later be loaded onto a cart to exit the game.

An official update for Shepard wasn’t immediately available. Following the game, Giants head coach Brian Daboll said Shepard would undergo tests and would have a clearer picture of the scope of the injury on Tuesday morning.

It’s unclear what exactly Shepard’s injury is, but if it’s severe, it’s the latest in a long line of injuries to the wideout’s lower half. In 2021, Shepard suffered an Achilles tear in Week 15, and in 2020, dealt with turf toe and was placed on Injured Reserve.

Shepard has also dealt with rib injury and multiple concussions in his career.
